I. Common Causes
Hotend clogging in Anycubic printers is usually caused by the following reasons:
1. Filament Issues
Using low-quality or damp PLA/ABS materials (which can easily produce bubbles and carbonization)
Mixing different types of materials (such as printing PETG after PLA without thorough cleaning)
2. Improper operation
Incorrect setting of the printing temperature, with the nozzle temperature not reaching the melting point standard of the filament (e.g., setting PLA below 200°C)
Insufficient preheating when quickly changing filaments, resulting in filament residue in the throat tube/extruder gears
Failure to regularly clean and maintain the nozzle causes residual filament to solidify and clog the hot end.
3. Hardware Issues
Internal wear of the nozzle or deformation of the PTFE tube (common after long-term use)
Failure of the cooling fan, resulting in the fan's inability to effectively dissipate heat from the throat tube, causing the filament to soften and deform prematurely inside the throat tube
Filament tangling or nozzle damage, preventing normal filament extrusion

II. Solutions
1. Tools Preparation
● Heat-resistant gloves
● A piece of filament
● Pliers
● Cleaning needle
2. Operating Steps
Step 1: Manually Extrude Filament
First, please raise the print head temperature slightly above the required temperature for the filament. Then, attempt to extrude the filament. Set the print head temperature to 250°C (e.g., for PLA), and click "Extrude" on the display to check if the clog inside the nozzle is extruded.
Step 2: Clean the hot end
If the above steps do not work, first remove the print head housing. Take off and hold the throat part of the hot end with heat-resistant gloves or pliers. Then take a piece of filament and feed it into the throat. Manually extrude the clogged material inside the hot end. Repeat this process several times to ensure that all the clogged material is removed from the hot end.
Note: The nozzle temperature can reach up to 250 degrees. Do not touch the nozzle directly with your hands. Please wear heat-resistant gloves or use pliers to hold the hot end.
Step 3: Use a cleaning needle to clear
After the above cleaning, insert the cleaning needle into the nozzle to clear the filament at the nozzle and check if the clog inside the nozzle has been cleaned thoroughly.
Although the above method can remove 99% of the clogs, in some cases, the hot end may be worn out. Please replace the hot end and check if the device can print normally.
Note: The 0.2 mm nozzle is more difficult to clean and may require multiple repetitions of the above steps. Additionally, the larger the nozzle diameter, the larger the particles it can allow to pass through, and the less likely it is to clog.

III. Preventive Measures
1. Filaments Management
Use Anycubic original consumables.
Store them in the ACE Pro device to avoid moisture or use desiccants.
2. Print Settings Optimization
Temperature: Increase the nozzle temperature by 10 to 20 degrees to facilitate the rapid melting of the filament.
Speed: Slightly reduce the print speed to minimize the risk of clogging at the hot end.
3. Hardware Maintenance
Regularly clean the accumulated materials in the throat pipe and maintain the hot end.
Upgrade the hot end to a hardened steel nozzle.
IV. Problem Summary
When the Anycubic printer encounters nozzle blockage due to issues such as filament quality, hardware problems, or improper usage, please heat the nozzle and manually extrude a section of filament, then use a cleaning needle to clear the filament at the nozzle. If the nozzle repeatedly gets clogged, you need to replace the hot end or upgrade to a hardened steel nozzle hot end. Long-term prevention is more important than post-event repair. To reduce the risk of clogging, please use high-quality and dry filament, optimize the print temperature/speed settings, and regularly maintain the hot end.
