Lunar New Year's Eve is the day before Lunar New Year. During the day, people decorate their houses with red lanterns, spring couplets and hang blessings. In the evening, there's a family reunion dinner to celebrate the start of the new year. 3. Lion Dance
Lion dance is one of the most important traditional celebrations in the Spring Festival. Performers usually wear an over-sized lion head to dance in order to bring happiness, pray for good luck and drive away evil spirits for the upcoming year. 4. Fu Lantern
This retro lantern has many traditional elements. For example, Fu Chinese character symbolizes blessing, prosperity and good luck. Fish pattern on the surface represents abundance and harvest. And lotus means tranquility and longevity. This lantern has a size of 116 x 150 x 104mm, designed to fit an LED tealight. It is recommended that print it at 20% infill and with red PLA to create a festive atmosphere.
5. Lucky Coasters
The set of good luck coasters consists of eight Chinese characters encircled by a meander pattern. Different coasters have different meanings, generally speaking, they all signify auspiciousness. But don't worry if you don't understand them, the designer has marked the meaning of each word on the STL file. As to print settings, the designer used gold and red silk PLA to achieve a glossy and dual-color look. Note that the filament color should be changed to 2 mm. Except for the somewhat troublesome work of switching different colors of filaments, other settings are very simple. Because it doesn't need rafts or supports, and the resolution is 0.2mm with 15% infill.
6. Dumpling
Dumplings are one of the traditional dishes on Lunar New Year's Eve, widely popular in North China. They consist of meat and vegetables wrapped in a dough skin, and can be cooked by boiling, steaming or frying. The look is similar to Chinese silver ingots, so eating dumplings stands for the fortune you can make in the next year. It is suggested to print a batch of dumplings with white PLA for a life-like look. The layer height is 0.15mm and the infill is 15%.
